Week 38

 Weekly Greetings!

Last week was incredible, with some special events that went very well! Before I recap all of that, I want to remind you that we will be traveling to Fort Greely on Thursday.  Make sure your child is on time that day, as we will leave shortly after breakfast. Your child will need a swimsuit and towel, and may bring extra snacks. I will have bottled water, snacks, and a bag lunch for the trip there. After they swim, we will eat pizza before traveling back to Tok. When we leave Delta, I will call all of you with a time that we will be back at the Tok School. Please remember that you will need to meet us there, as we will probably return between 6pm and 7pm. For this trip, I will allow electronic devises but your child must be responsible for it if you choose to send one along.

Now. to recap the highlights from last week! On Tuesday, the class did a wonderful job at both performances of the Spring Concert "At the Bandstand. "  I think they really had fun with the old rock and roll songs, in addition to dressing up for the their parts.
The class also had their last art class with Ms. Shauna, and were able to complete the projects they started last month.
Finally on Thursday, the mock trial "The Three Bears Verses Gold E. Locks" the class had been working on took place at the Tok District Courthouse. The students that had key roles did a great job, and in the end the jury found Gold E. Locks guilty of bad manners.  The event gave the class an opportunity to ask questions about real laws and sentences for breaking the law.

There will be regular homework this week, with the exemption of Thursday due to our field trip.

Have a great week, and kind regards!

Julie Brown
